Hope you r26ers don't me me putting this on your forum but thought some of you may be interested in this as it's in Exeter (and on the East side too!)[:)] We are hosting a karting event, open to all members, on the 10th March at

http://www.raceworld-karting.co.uk/

We are planning to go for the "Extended Sprint" event which consists of..

EXTENDED SPRINT (5-33 Drivers)

50% more track time compared to the standard sprint
Exclusive use of the track
Based around the F1
Arrival & Registration
Get kitted up (We provide everything you need)
Full Safety briefing
10 Min Practice Session (Approx 20-25 Laps)
10 Min Qualifying Session
20 Lap Sprint Final for all drivers

£39.00 per driver - Duration dependant on numbers - £35.00 per driver if over 15 drivers

We will start at 10am and therefore should be finished in good time for a Sunday roast at the local pub!

Obviously if we can get the numbers then we will have exclusive use of the track so if you want to come along an early reply would be most helpful. We have to put down a £200 deposit soon so we need at least half a dozen names asap! We will then close the bookings on 14th Feb - you won't be able to just turn up on the day!

There will be a Porsche trophy for fastest man gent and fastest lady.

If you want to join in the fun then either

post here or

e-mail
r15@porscheclubgb.com

or ring us - our numbers are in Porsche Post.

Alan

Henry Gill and myself will attend, is it to bring my 16 year old son, as he's keen to get behind the wheel

Are we going to go in convoy - suggest meet at Dorchester Football Club at 8.15 to leave at 8.30

Should arrive at Exeter 9.30 - 9.45 for 10am start?

The Honiton road is not the quickest! It could take at least 1.25hrs and with traffic more! I sugest leave at 8.15am. Karl will probably do it in 1/2hr!!![:)]

Geoff

I drive that road every week to our Newton Abbot office 1.5hrs door to door ( takes 5-8 mins to get to dorchester)

We went to dartmouth last sunday, left dorchester at 07.15 arrived at Dartmouth 08.50 ( was in the Mondeo 4up)

Anyway if we get there early you can treat us all to breakfast[:D][:D]

Surely we don't want to a) risk being late, or b) jump out of the car straight into a briefing / kart / race. I vote that we aim to arrive at 9.15 to give us time to chill before it all kicks off. This will also give us some leeway for unexpected delays - good weather causing the world and his brother to hit the road, for instance.

What I'm saying is that I'd rather arrive too early than too late - and yes, maybe even get a bit of (light) breakfast before the off!

Great to meet up with you chaps yesterday and well done on claiming the two top podium positions! Pleased to claim the 3rd spot myself! Hope you all enjoyed it and looking forward to a rematch sometime! Did anyone take photos? I forgot...[:(]

We didn't claim the top 2 podium finishes? They were locals from your area who said they did a lot of karting visits to Raceworld.
I'll check for photos, I know a few phone cameras were in action.
A great day out for us with a nice drive before and after, even in the light sleet heading home.

I knew it - a pair of "ringers" trophy hunting!
GREAT day had by all. I've got some pics and I know Karl took some as well. I'll get mine off to Geoff asap
Thanks again!

yes good fun, we will have to arrange one up at Clay Pigeon, with 70mph twin engine karts.

Two of our members seemed to still be trying to settle the race on the way home, silver and black cars, you know who you are!!

I think i can now confirm that it doesn't take 1.5hrs to get to Exeter......

It seems most of the R26 members in the fast final (not you Geoff....lol) seem to be racing each other rather than trying to win the race.

I hope Geoff's ribs are feeling better after I t-boned him, when he span in front of me, think it was the lack of electronic aids, caused the spin!!

Yes, no PASM, PSM, ABS, PAS etc. Only one cracked rib apparently! Had trouble getting out of my car when I reached home.
