Karting at Lakeside - June

dawn lang

Ex Club Member
I'm really sorry to be a pain but because I renewed my membership late I only received my March Porsche Post yesterday (assuming everyone else received theirs earlier).

Noticed that there's a karting event at Lakeside and also that the closing date has now passed.

Is the closing date set in stone or do you have room for a couple of late people?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Dawn

Dawn,

I spoke to Martyn and he confirmed that because the date has been moved there is still time to put your name down. I presume we can give monies at tonight's meeting. Hopefully we will get enough people to proceed with this as these karts really do fly ! I have just started a season of karting with http://www.parttimeracing.f9.co.uk/ and had my first race at Milton Keynes last month and had a really great time.

It's a shame the 911 doesn't corner like a Prokart !!

Super! What is the new date for karting - or was the date in March's PP the new date?

I have to be honest and say that as I was so late getting the information i've already got plans for tonight but hopefully Martyn will let me send him a cheque.

Now, just to decide if i've got the bottle to kart myself or whether i'll be cheering my husband on from the sidelines! [:)]

You have to give a go. Just remember that before the helmet goes on the brains have to be removed !!

[:D] Well that made me laugh!!! I'm sure i'll give it a go. Trouble is that the last time I 'karted' I carried that driving style over to my Boxster and nearly put it down a ditch on a particularly nasty corner![:-]

Will there be more information on here or should I contact Martyn directly via e-mail - sorry to keep asking so many questions!

... oh, I agree the A13 will be a dangerous place when we all pile out !

I'd have thought Martyn will be putting a mention on the Forum so that enough people know about it. I'll get the details tonight and let you know.

Dawn, Graham, and everyone,

I have only just caught up with this thread. The date has been shifted by members' request to 13th June. Lakeside is indeed a super 900m circuit which is within 0.5 miles of J30 of the M25. We have two 15 minute sessions with a 10 minute practice. The cost will be £50 per person and adjacent regions are sending teams so there will be an opportunity for inter-region socialising. The circuit requires a deposit of £25 and you are requested to send it to me. My address appears in the Essex Region Newsletter in the March P.P, otherwise e-mail me at r11@porscheclubgb.com for address details.

For those that are interested, please also remember that we have clay pigeon shooting on 8th May at Fyfield. Details in March P.P. Again, we are looking for inter-region teams.

All cheques gratefully received [:D]

Howard and all,

We still have a few slots left for Lakeside Karting on June 13th. Please send your deposit of £20 p.p. to me asap. My address is in Porsche Post. The more the merrier and the better the event!

After the "enthusiasum" of some of the competitors from "other" regions last year, might I recommend rib protectors.
