Karting - Wroughton - 7th November

Following recent discussions, we have now organised a group race session on the 7th November at the Swindon Karting Arena (near Swindon) where we previously held the successful karting event earlier this year. For those who've never been before, the circuit is housed in a very large hangar on the old RAF Wroughton base and is a fast 550 metre indoor tarmac track which smooth and level, unlike some other circuits. We'll be driving quick Honda-powered TB R15 270cc Karts that are indecently quick maxing out at 45 mph on the indoor track.

The session will consists of a 10 minute qualifying session which is followed by a 30 lap race. The quickest in the qualifying session will start at the front of the grid. We need a minimum of 7 people to go ahead but if more want to come along they can accommodate a maximum of 12.

Cost will be £40 per person payable in advance by each participant directly to the venue. For more details and to express an interest in joining in, please click here.

Members who have indicated they wish to participate are:

  1. James Brickell
  2. Graham Simons
  3. Wayne Singleton
  4. Chris Guy (PAID)
  5. Richard Franklin (PAID)
  6. Harvey Franklin (PAID)
  7. Paul Hunter (PAID)
Anyone else up for multiple bruising?

Alan

You're on the list Wayne. You going for another podium finish then? [;)]

Alan

I will be with you in spirit, another date that I can't do I'm afraid.

Really sorry, It was great fun last time.

Just to let you know that, as at 28th September, we've got 9 participants signed up but have still got room for 3 more. If you've not already confirmed your booking with Swindon Karting Arena, please call either Karen or James on 01793 814 340. They accept Mastercard and Visa for payment. Please also email us to let us know you've signed up. Many thanks.

Hi Alan,
I am afraid Alec and I have to duck out due a date change elsewhere.
Hopefully you still have your quorum....

Regrettably, Alan is going to have to duck out of the karting session as we have both been asked to attend the Club Officer's conference at Cornbury House that day. That means there will be 7 drivers now, which is enough for the event to still go ahead but it also means there are places for five more people should anyone else want to take part.

We've checked with SKA this morning who confirm that they have so far received payment for 4 places from Chris Guy (x1), Paul Hunter (x1) and Richard Franklin (x2). That means they need to hear from Wayne, Graham and James at the latest this Friday (30th) for the session to remain an exclusive Porsche Club event.

So, if you wish to take part in this event please call either Karen or James at the Swindon Karting Arena asap on 01793 814 340. They accept Mastercard and Visa for payment. Please also email us to let us know you've signed up. Many thanks.

Hi Richard, Absolutely no problem. We're very pleased you're able to find some more drivers for this session. I'm sorry I can't make this one. Hope you guys have a great time. If you or any of the other guys get a chance to take any pictures, we'd really appreciate if you could send us one or two for Porsche Post. Thanks.

Hope all you guys have a great time tomorrow. As we won't be there, we'd really appreciate if someone could take one or two pics and perhaps write a few words (around 150 - 200) so we can include it in our monthly write up for Porsche Post. Many thanks.
