Keeping my alloys looking good...

Possibly a question for the concours/detailing section but I post here for now"¦
I have 18" turbo alloys on by C2S. Are there any secrets or tools anyone can recommend re keeping these looking good and clean. Finding at the moment these are taking as long to do ( if done properly) as rest of the car put together?

Sounds about right!. Dont use acid! Wash with non-bio detergent (about 2-5% solution should be ok). Rinse well and regularly clean the insides. I'm due for release into the community shortly so I'll be able to keep cleaning my wheels as I describe..........

Ditto the above, I use a seperate wash mitt for the wheels though, Costco sell a turtlewax four pack for just under nine quid.

I treated the inner rims with Rejex, the windscreen and bodywork finisher that stops dead flies from sticking to the surface. Works well and the muck washes off the rims very easily with minimum effort.
At £20 for a small bottle it was another reason my partner wanted me committed.

Get the wheels off and see the crap on the inside. I am planning to get the rears off as well this afternoon and give all four a really good clean and polish. Trouble is, I think its almost a part of the washing routine and a trolley jack may become a necessity to speed the process..........................

I get mine clean(......ish[;)]) and then give them a spray with silicone. The dust and grime sticks to the silicone and just washes off at laundry time.

Regards

After an afternnon spent trying to get the inside of all my wheels clean I think its time for a refurbish as they are quite badly marked inside and washing powder followed by white spirit has not cleared all the mess. Loads of bits of tar in there too. I know this has been done to death somewhere else but painted or powder coated and what about a dark grey to contract with the arctic silver.
