Key fob covers

Hi,

i have bought a very well made and fitting rubber cover for my 997 key, as the plastic is showing its age. However when the key is used with the cover on the car won’t register the key. I assume this is because the car can no longer detect the transponder. The doors still lock and unlock on the remote button.

Has as anyone else experienced this?

2 or 3 button key? A photo would help. Some replacement covers are intended only for keyless entry systems.
Does replacing with the original cover resolve the issue?

If I take the cover back off the key works fine. I’m just surprised the key transponder seams to be that sensitive.
 
The ad describes it as "1 x silicon case for Porsche 3 Button Car Key" So maybe you have the wrong one, but try a new battery first to see if that does the trick.
