Key Fob extended warranty question

Hi Guys,
The remote function to open the bonnet on the keyfob isn't working. Locking is working fine. Phoned porsche warranty this morning and they say it is wear and tear and is not covered. I argued that in the Warranty handbook it says central locking and all electrical switches are covered. She then said I will have to take it to porsche for an inspection and they will have to ring with a part number as they can only work from part numbers. Anyone any experience of this? I don't want to pay for an inspection if it is not covered by warranty as I will just open the bonnet from inside the car. Also any experiences of Porsche Sheffield? I am taking mine for a major service next week (5 years).
Thanks
Vron

Vron,

Sorry, not a direct response to your thread...

I've a 6 yr old C4 cab and I was unaware that the key fob could open the bonnet. Is this only available on the Coupes perhaps?

Thanks.

Nope. Works on the Cab as well. Of the three buttons, one locks and unlocks the car, one opens and closes the roof and the third opens the nose.

I agreed, i would imagine it would be covered.

however, my remote function stopped working recently, not covered under Porsche Warranty unfortunately.

Good luck anyway.
