Key fob problems

Picked up car from mot on Saturday (passed as usual) to find remote not operating central locking. I'd noticed the signal was getting weak so assumed battery had finally failed. Got home inserted new battery - not operating. Light flashing when button pressed just not communicating with the car.

Tried wife's key (memory seats so each key personalised) and all working fine. So this tells me problem is with my key.

Tried:

Key in ignition switched on pressed button. No change

Key in ignition switched on and off pressed button . No change

Key in ignition switch on and off pressed button. No change.

Reversed polarity, repeated above. No change

So at this point Have given up.

Any ideas before hassle of visit to local Indy?

Could of course complain to MOT garage but doubt it will get me anywhere, and like I say the signal was getting weak so needed to be nearer car than normal to operate before I took it in

Just to follow up my earlier post, Paragon have diagnosed defunct key fob, replaced and back to normal. Apparently quiet common now in 996 and earlier 997, plus boxsters, probably component failure within electronics.
