Key fob signal weak

I have a 2005 C2S and have noticed the key fob is not working correctly. I have just replaced the battery within the key and still the same. Any ideas. ??

Hi Simon, you will find several posts on the forum re key fob issues & it is a common fault, due to age & not just with Porsche as I have had 2 other cars that when the remotes were about 15 years old, just died.....

I have recently replaced both my key heads on my '04 996 4S, at a price, as 1 was intermittent & the other had stopped working completely.
I think you will just have to bite the bullet & do likewise.

There was someone on here recently claiming that they can 'fix' them but I'm sure if OPC's & Indies can't then you know the saying; if it sounds too good to be true.....

See link above which includes my posts re key fob

Hope this helps

Paul

Hi Paul
Thank you for the post, I have found my issue I believe [:)]
I have a Bluetooth device that I have plugged into my cigarette lighter in the centre console which allows me to play music from my phone onto my radio. Once this is removed hey presto the key fobs work again from a good distance, must have been blocking the signal somehow!!!!

Hope this might help others with a gen 1 car and the same set up!!!

Hi Simon,
Well that's very good news & has saved you + £300 if you had to have both keys replaced []

Cheers
Paul
