Key Fob Stopped Working

Hi guy's, the key fob for my Boxster S has stopped working. I have replaced the battery with a new one but still no luck.
The unlock button and both front / rear boots still not working. Has anyone had this problem before? When replacing the battery in the
key fob do you need to press any buttons in a certain order for it to work again? This has puzzled me so any comments or ideas would
be much appreciated!!

You can try resetting the processor of the key remote by inserting the battery the wrong way round for 2-3 seconds (ie polarity reversed) and then put it back in the right way round. It works occasionally. If that doesn't do the trick, then it has given up the ghost, and you need a new key head.

They do just give up over time. I think it's the little switches because when mine went i could still take it apart then press and twist a switch hard to make it work. Bit back in the fob no good.

Just thought I would update you on the situation.
I took car and keys to Porsche. They said same as you guy's, that the key fob was working but the Immobiliser bit wasn't.
They said they would re-code both keys for £240 + vat.
I asked them if I could just have one key done for now. So half hour later, a few cans of sprite and cups of coffee to get a bit of my money back the job was done.
Instead of them just giving me a new keyfob recoded they actually recoded 2 of my old ones as well, so I was quite please in the end.
