Not sure if anyone can throw any light on this. I replaced my key head less than 2 years ago as it didnt seem to be talking to the car. Mind you, when i opened the key head, the inside pcb did look a bit tired/damaged with loose connectors.
My issue is that whilst my newer key head is solid, well sealed and undamaged, why does the garage say it needs replacing again after such a short time. I know that the majority of times the key has worked well, then i noticed it was starting to be tricky. I used the re setting procedures, ie put key in fob..leave for 1 minute...switch off for ten seconds....then turn engine over. Key fob returned to normal operation. However, has only lasted for 2 to 3 weeks and is now dodgy again.
Does the fob really need replacing or should a garage be able to sort this, ie reprogramming! I know its difficult to tell without seeing the unit but trust me, it is still in brand new condition..
Car is in this week having a major service but i am reluctant to spend another £100 on a new key head !!!!
All comments greatly appreciated
