Key remote sensitivity

New member
Hi Guys,

First post here and just recently joined the club, so hello from the South Coast. I've had my Cayman S for about 5 weeks now and I'm absolutely loving it.

However, one slight issue is rearing its ugly head - the key remote seems incredibly sensitive; so sensitive in fact that if it's in one of my front pockets and I sit down it can unlock the car, or pop open the front boot.

Is there anything that can be done? (apart from not putting it in my front pocket.)

Cheers

Stephen

ps. one more question: I'm based in Chichester, would the Sussex be my local or would that be South?

The key issue was partially resolved by extending the time delay from pressing and holding a button to actual activation. Most should have been modified already by Porsche centres, seems yours has slipped through the net.

which one did you buy from?? i dont thnik it matters if you bought a distance away which you choose-whichever is nearest-but the opc should be able to sort it

Burgess Hill OPC. But yes Guildford is slightly closer to me here. Presumably is a really quick and simple fix?

Hi Stephen, Welcome to the club and Cayman forum. If you havent already done so, you may wish to record your car on the register. If applicable, either contact Cornbury House or ask me to send you the form. Kind regards

My keys have started to unlock/lock the car on some occasions with the keys dangling free in my hand, with me just holding the leather key fob when I get near the car. [&:] I think this could be a bit more than just your normal over sensitive key fob!! Will get it checked out at it's service.

You know you want one....happily take you for a ride in mine when it comes to push you over the edge!!
