Key seat memory not working?

Hi.

I can't seem to get the seat memory position stored for different keys! I've programmed buttons 2 and 3 for my and Mrs DC's layout, but despite folliwng the instructions in the manual, the seat settings don't change when opening the car with the key (if it's changed since the key was last used, obviously!). Am I missing something?
Anyone else had this problem? The only thing I can think of that would cause it is a faulty "Key/1" button in the door panel, which seems unlikely as the other two work OK.

Chris, I've never had any luck programming the seat memories either. The only one that seems to work is the no1 slot, which moves the seat and mirrors back to my driving position after a service or cleaning the car etc. 2 nor 3 have never worked for me.

I had seat memory on my 987S - and, because I never got it to work, vowed not to opt for the electric seat on my 997 C4S. My wife and I have vastly different driving positions but it is much quicker to select them manually that 'faff' about with the memory function.

In the Boxster, the OPC zero'd the memory for me and I tried reprogramming from scratch; but it never worked properly. I kept getting into a car that a gnome had driven and had to wait until the seat reset before I could drive.

If it worked properly then it would have been useful - but it doesn't so it isn't!

Sorry that I can't be of any help.

Hmmm. Seems like a failry common problem then! It always worked perfectly in my previoous 986, so it's irritating that it doesn't in the 997 []

I do not have the memory function on my car but, I understood that if you have sport chrono fitted, this adds functionality to the memory system. Maybe the issue lies with conflicting programming between the two systems.
Just a thought, could be a load of b*****ks.[;)]

Thanks for the suggestion, Geoff, but the Sport Chrono doesn't seem to have any seat related memory options (just Climate control, door opening, lighting etc).

I think it's just knackered!
