Key woes and door locking conundrum

New member
After losing one of my keys to a malfunction of the lock/unlock lozenge shaped tit I dug out the spare (it willl make sense if you see my highly entertaining running report). Its battery has now failed and I have replaced it with a sparkly new one but the key electronics refuse to work.

Q1. I don't think there is any programing required is there?;
Q3. If I lock the door manually does the alarm activate; and
Q2. If it does, how do I get in the darn thing after I locked it without the alarm going off. I know there is a set sequence of deft key movements but I can't remember what it is?

Car is unlocked in the garage at the momnet so not an issue until I go out (no doubt to Paragon to order a new key fob! unless I can find one on a well known online auction site.)

I had a same issue with my c4s if i remember correctly you lock manualy as normal then to unlock you turn the key anti clockwise it lets you in the car without all hell breaking lose with the alarm.I have i must confess i have slept since i had this issue but i am sure someone with a greater knowledge than myself will put you on the right track,also if you have a drivers handbook i am sure it has a section on this.
Kind regards Brian and best of luck

No, but you can restart the processor in the key remote. Insert the coin cell upside down for 2-3 seconds and then remove it and re-insert the right way up. If it still doesn't work, it is probably cream crackered.

Q3. If I lock the door manually does the alarm activate; and
Yes. The alarm arms the system, just as if it was done on the remote.

Q2. If it does, how do I get in the darn thing after I locked it without the alarm going off. I know there is a set sequence of deft key movements but I can't remember what it is?
If you unlock it with the key, you need to switch the ignition on smartish, otherwise the alarm goes off. I think it is 10 seconds, from memory.

New keys are supplied with a 24-digit bar code, which has to be entered into the alarm system module with a Porsche tester. If you buy one without the code, it is only good as an ornament.
