Hi, quick one - I have a 2005 987, the keys are all bent up. The metal bit is straight, just where it joins the button pad so kind of V shaped - no idea how the prev owner managed this. Are the keys particularly flimsy? I'm a bit worried one day I'll lose the end in the door. I don't usually remote lock the car as it stands a lot of the time.

Also, is it normal for the key to 'forget' the remote function? works ok every time for the boots but when i try the door I occasionally have to unlock the car manually then it seems to work with the remote button.

Any suggestions welcome!
 
If you leave the car for more than a few days the remote sensor in the car switches off to save the battery. That might be why you have to manually unlock.

You should be able to get new key blades.
