Kielder drive 29/10/17

Unfortunately it won't be long before some of us won't wish to get out and enjoy our cars quite so much when the dreaded salt hits the roads. This prompted me last weekend on a grey Sunday morning to just get the car out and enjoy a chilled drive, stopping on route for a spot of breakfast before heading across the moors of Weardale.

We are very lucky where we live to have so many beautiful routes we can take and with the leaves starting to shed I thought next weekend I am going to head for Kielder for an Autumn drive. Obviously wet roads and leaves will potentially mean a slightly more sedate drive allowing us to take in more of the great views on the way.

If anyone wishes to join Deb and I suggest we could meet at Hexham services just off the A69 NE46 4DL, at around 10.30am before heading up to Kielder Castle maybe even a spot of lunch at the Anglers Arms or the Castle Cafe when we arrive.

Greg definitely up for that but will see what I can do.

The Brother in Law is up for the weekend (Proper petrol head). We were looking to go out on Saturday or Sunday morning for a few hours. Thing is they normally travel back down to London on the Sunday afternoon so may well be me and the wife. Have a great deal on the weekend so hopefully will try and fit in.

Let you know nearer the time.

Would have loved to Greg, but we already have other plans that can't be changed :(.

I'm all for getting the car out during the winter as long as there is no salt on the roads. Hopefully next time as we do get the odd dry day during the winter.

Sorry, Halloween Partying the night before - if I’m awake by 10:30 on Sunday I certainly won’t be sober enough to drive.

Good morning Greg,

We have managed to escape our baby sitting duties so will be joining you this morning. Hope it stays dry!

It just gets better and better. Thank you Porsche club R3. On returning home I enthused so much about the day meeting old and new friends that Michelle feels she is missing out and wants to join in. Who would have though, the power of the Porsche mark.

Great day out in the autumn sunshine, meeting new and interesting people with a shared interest.

These impromptu runs are great fun.

Cheers Greg and Deb, see you next time...

Great to read you all had a blast, we often find some of the best runs throughout the year are either the ones early or later in the season due to the roads, parking and the availability of cafe stops all being somewhat quieter, therefore we don't have to plan too far ahead.

It's great to simply join up with like-minded members who are happy to go with the flow and head out and drive some of the amazing roads we have around our Region and The Borders.

PS Mike I find copious amounts of caffeine helps.[;)]

Sorry I missed this Greg. I am not planning to put my car away so hope there will be a few of these over the ne t few months.

Fantastic People, fantastic roads and great weather. For me probably the best ride out yet as roads were near as dam it clear.

Just another day living the dream......

Thanks Y'all
