KLR unit

Hi all.

I've been experiencing rough running on my '89 951. A local specialist has diagnosed (suspects) that the KLR unit (ECU) is faulty. This unit is mounted up under the passenger footwell. My best way forward is to either borrow a good unit to double check I am right, or for me to purchase a good unit.

Knock-related running issues can also be caused by a faulty knock sensor that causes an acoustic signature that does not work with what's programmed on the KLR chip.

ECU or KLR there are 2 control modules in the passenger footwell on a turbo ?

It’s definitely the KLR unit, rather than the ECU.
