I am after some help please.
I need to get the front ashtray out of my 2004 S. It's not opening or closing correctly, I think a coin has got behind it.
I can't figure out how to remove the tray!
Can anyone tell me how to remove it please?

Thank you.

I think you just lift the end nearest to you and pull.
It will be in the instruction book under emptying ashtray or similar

Thank you for the suggestion.
I have tried pulling it out, maybe not hard enough. Yet!

The hand book says a release lever has to be moved and shows a picture of it, but it's a differnt setup to mine. The difference seems to be the non-smokers pack that mine has. The discription in the hand book shows the tray with a 9v/lighter provided and the release lever, mine doesn't have either of those.

I am wondering if my isn't supposed to come out as it isn't supposed to need cleaning (as an ashtray would)?

You may well be right.Mine has a ciggy lighter i would be lost without the socket.
I cant look my book up as i am away .
There must be some reference in your book somewhere.
I am a non smoker so cant remember ever taking mine out.

Many thanks.
I can't find anything in the book. I am going to pop into my local indi next week and ask them.
I'll post the soloution when I get it.

Try this from another site....

You'll need to remove the AC control panel, but first you need to remove the aluminum look trim around the console, it just pulls out. After that you gain access to the clips which hold in the AC control panel. There is metal tang that holds it in on each side. You need to press those clips towards the center of the car and pull the control panel out, its kind of a pain. After that youll see two t-20 screws which hold the ash tray in.

Fingers crossed!!!! [;)][;)][;)]

Cheers FP

Thank you very much.
I'll have a bash at that.

Then I guess I'll take the car in to get the damage that I caused sorted!

I'll let you know what happens.
