Knock - Any ideas?

I have recently had the diff rebuilt and gearbox checked over - I think a selector was replaced, of my 1994 C2 90,000 miles. I am now getting a slight knock when the engine changes from breaking to pulling ie if you lift and then accelerate.

How much "slap" should there be on the diff in terms of wheel movement and how audible should it be if rocking the car by hand in gear, engine off?

The only thing I can think of is a duff mounting somewhere or diff problem!

Not sure how much slap but don't think you should be able to hear a knock?

In my 71k LWF car I don't get any knock when lifting off completely in 2nd then back on the throttle.

Do you have the standard dual mass flywheel?

These have a silica type gel in the middle of the sandwich, when the engine/box is warm you can get the symptoms you describe from the flywheel when taking up drive........was this part given the all clear on your check over?

Thanks for the rapid response guys, I have taken it back to the garage who are going to take it back and investigate as they were not able to say what it was from experience. Wasn't there before and doesn't sound like a part banging on another - couldn't replicate it with the car on the ramp riving and shaking. It's only audible at very low speed in first and second gears - higher gears and the general niose, road and car mask it.
