hiya all, whilst driving today noticed that every now and again when slowing down, i am getting a slight clunk/knock on what feels like front left side near wheel, did tyre pressures before my journey, car driving great, all gauge readings are perfect, any ideas what this might be? thanks and regards as always... jason p ps no noise when breaking

Check the droplink that goes around the anti roll bar bush (number 5 in the picture below). They often rust through and allow the anti roll bar to move around

If your drop link was gone you would notice the car ""wallowing"" in the direction of the link that has gone. Not severly but should be noticeable. Also check the front ARB bush (item 1) these can go quite commonly. Fingers crossed if it is those. They are easy to do just a trolley jack and axle stand needed plus basic tools. About £7 for the drop link and around £2.50 each for the bushes. Best price you will get is OPC for those without a doubt.

I'll pitch in and suggest number 6. I've had both 5 and 6 fail on my S2 in the last year, with similar symptoms.

Both easy to change. Parts from your local OPC.

thanks for advice, will book her in for next week, fingers crossed nothing to severe, cars driving great, all gauge positions correct, i am wondering what worse scenerio would/could be? but cross that bridge when i come to it, i left my lights on for over 8hrs last night until neighbour told me, car started on 1st turn, mrs p was already armed with the phone ready to call recovery until she heard me fire her[the car] up, lucky or are our cars "bombproof" when looked after? thanks jason p
