Has anyone tried the 'get the best from your car' package at Knockhill where an instructor rides with you to show you what you should be doing. I'm thinking of doing this before I venture out on a track night . Is it worth it or are there other places/packages that anyone could recommend, so that I can experience the limits of my car in a 'safe' environment. I do give it a reasonable amount of wellie on some of the local roads but well within the car's limits. Before I even think about generating a bit of oversteer, I want to practice it away from where I can get into trouble.

Knockhill 'driving lesson'

[] Hi, I did it the week before the Glenvarigill track day in 2003. It is really worthwhile in my view as I was forced - in a gentle way- then by being shown by the instructor moving the wheel to where he knew the car would go, whilst i was driving, to turn in at speeds I could not believe were possible whilst still staying on the circuit. I missed the track day last year but if there is one this year I will probably have a similar practice befpre i attend!

it's only £90. As far as I know, the instructor takes you out for two laps and shows you what can be done, and then you try and perfect the techniques in the remaining 23 laps. I think I'll definitely give it a go and then maybe graduate to a Porsche track day.
