Knocking noise from front

Hi everyone... My very first post!

I have had my 2.5 99 Boxster for a while and I have never had any problems with it, until now.
When I drive the car from cold for about 20-30mins I start to get a knocking/clunking noise
(hard to describe) from the front end, I can also feel this knocking through the steering wheel.
I hope someone can shed some light onto this, as I'm a little worried!

Many thanks,

Steve

Steve,

I've got the same car (and age). Does it sound almost like a rattle over bumps? If it is, it is probably worn anti-roll linker arms (suspension). It will require new arms and bushes (probably all around). It'll get steadily worse over time.

Its not hugely expensive to fix however (ca. £300 from an OPC).

cheers,

Iain

Cheers Iain.

I think you are talking about the same thing; it definitely starts to rattle more over bumpier ground.

Thanks for the reply,

Steve.

Hi , I had the same problem on my Boxster. It turned out to be track rod ends. To check this, jack up the car then feel for any lift in in the track rod. If this is your problem i would have it done at a local garage, as OPC Nottingham charged me nearly five hundred pounds for the privelidge. (at least dick turpin wore a mask)Cheers Andy Mac
