knocking noise from nearside rear

Normally notice it at lower speeds,and when i have just changed gear.and turning into a bend .I think it could be a driveshaft but not sure the car is a 1986 carrera with 150,000+ on the clock.I know its difficult to know without hearing it but maybe someone else might have had this problem.Thanks.

I have an 86 Carrera with 130,000 and get an occasional 'whining' which I have been told is the wheel bearing. Will be changing it in due course. Doesn't sound like a knocking though, so cannot really help - sorry.
