I had a similar problem when I had new discs & pads fitted. Were they aftermarket pads?
There may be a small amount of movement of the pads in the callipers if they are aftermarket

I have a similar problem. I understand a possible cause could be the droplinks to the roll bar. The parts are about £30 each and I also understand that unbolting one and driving the car with the roll bar inoperative will make the clunking disappear if this is the cause. I haven't changed mine yet so will be interested if this is found to be the cause.

cheers guys, in reply to aftermarket pads they were textar, thanks for advice will checkout all the information

Just had a similar problem with my 2.7 2000, It clunked while manoevering in car parks. Just fitted replacement track control arms and it feels so different, much tighter and no clunks! It's not easy to tell whether there is play in the outer ball joints as when the wheel is off the suspension is under tension. I believe drop links make more of a noise when travelling over rough surfaces, this might explain why you only get this noise at slow speeds.
