As proposed in PP we're planning a run over to the Lake District on 21st August 2011.
R3 members are to meet, provisionally at 9.00am at Barnard Castle for the 2 hour (approx) drive down through the Yorkshire Dales via Butter Tubs Pass and on to the Lakeland Motor Museum.

Butter Tubs Pass is a spectacular high mountain road which leads across the moors. This route is now known as Jeremy Clarksons favourite route in the whole of Yorkshire, as he describes it as "England's only truly spectacular road".

Details for the Lakeland Motor Museum are, (http://www.lakelandmotormuseum.co.uk/)
On the proviso that we have more than 20 people attend they've offered us a "Porsche only" car park, discounted rate of £6 per person for museum entry, or £14.50 for museum entry & return lake cruise to Bowness with a free bus shuttle to the ferry landing so cars can remain in museum car park. If boats aren't your thing there's also a steam train trip available for £5.50.

We would like to invite any other members and regions to join us on the run or meet us at the museum on the day.

Please can anyone who is interested in this drive out & meet, let us know ASAP in order to give us an idea of numbers.

Cheers Greg. R3
