Large 'Cronk' noise as roof goes up

Hi,
Wonder if you can help identify the noise i'm getting when I lock the roof up into position - its fine and smooth all the way up, but as the rear trim panel locks into place it makes an almighty clank/crack sound. can't see it fouling anywhere, and it doesn't happen wihen the roof folds down...
Any help welcome!

My guess would be the cable(s) are out of alignment - you shouldn't get that noise normally.
If it's a soft screen model, I assume you do the correct 'boxster chop' when folding the roof and it's not (heaven forbid) the soft plastic window making the noise if it is badly folded.
Have a look under the FAQ section as well for more roof tips.
If you still can't solve the mystery, take it to a Porsche independent specialist for them to sort.
Cheers
Rob

thanks - yes, definitely do the 'Boxster Chop' - its only when raising the roof, which is odd may have to put up with it until its service and ask them to have a look.
Thanks
Scott

I get the same noise on my 04 with a glass screen!

I would also love to know what couaes it, have had a look but cant see anything obvious.....

Loud clunk as the cover locks back in place. Anyone???

Under the clamshell are two rubber cone shaped stoppers, thich locate into recesses to help align theclamshell - might be worth checking these and making sure they have plenty of vaseline on them

Mine are same colour as car but look to be made of ABS or other injection molded plastic, as are the brackets that connect to the clam shell.
