Last of the Summer?

Encouraged by the expanse of blue sky this morning I decided to take advantage of what might be the last of the summer. Unfortunately the clouds were gathering before I could get the car clear of the garage, but undaunted I decided to press on and was rewarded with some quiet roads and clear views of the local countrside - and residents:

If we had had a summer sky up here in Lancashire as good as what is in that photo I would have been more than happy!!!

Its been a truly dreadful summer here.

I spoke to a gardener friend yesterday and his records show it rained every day in August and 25 days in July!!

I hear its terrible in Scotland and the north (and I'm not just on about the weather [;)]) with lashings of rain and flooding.
I was sadly out in the van fighting with the roads closures in and around Birmingham..
However I was lucky enough to be out in the sticks first thing where is was stunning..

I had hoped to get out in my car this weekend now that its back with me..[:(]

We have the same local residents here and they wander round my lawn at the front of the house most nights. Saves using the mower!

Wish we had your weather too. It has been the wettest August I can remember here and today everytime I thought I would go for a spin in the car guess what... It rained! Not that it stopped
me. Still its not flooded like on the East of Scotland. Some small towns have been cut off, rail links down etc. Heres hoping for an indian September/October... You never know!

That road looks a bit dirty for your pristine machine! [:D]

I think he's getting braver [;)]

Perhaps I am. I even found myself considering calling round to the supermarket on the way home but thankfully I soon snapped out of it. All those trolleys - I'll probably have nightmares.

Funilly enough the worst damage to my beast was when I parked in places you'd think the car would be safe - Goodwoods Kinrara car park, small villages in the north yokishire moors and dales........etc

I only got a couple of small marks from being in supermarket car parks so far........ touch wood
