[:D]Hope these scoops are pretty acurate as this is one cool looking Boxster

So much for distancing it from the 996 look though [;)]

IMO the front end is spot on - but the rear has too much featureless plastic for my liking - I can see a family resemblance to the 928 here but that has a better looking behind [;)]

It is odd how the 996 and Boxster are looking more and more alike - will Porsche address this with the 997 I wonder?

I think it looks fantastic!

Not so keen on the oversized front radiator inlets (shades of the OTT ones on the Turbo methinks), but the rest is poetry!

I'm a commited Top-Down guy, but this is looking very tempting...

Mark how many Boxster owners would want a fixed roof when we have such fab summers like the one just gone and I am still basking in [8D]

Seriosuly though all the pictures and scoops posted so far are not the definitive article but I am convinced it will be a stunning piece of kit from the spy shots seen so far.

Personally I am fond of the Boxsters shape but must confess it's looking somewhat dated now and a major refresh would be the way to go [:)]

In the meantime I am going to enjoy my current MY03 example

Someone has put up some nice pics of the forthcoming Boxster Coupe on my Boxster board:

MY05 Boxster Coupe

Thanks for that Taz, these are the best shots I've seen yet, even if they are only guesstimates. That rear shot in particular is superb, almost looks like the E-type Jag re-born.

Very definitely the car to replace my 968 (if I can afford it)

No probs, John. I hope you found other stuff on my board useful as well.

I love the look of my Boxster and the only improvement would be to the rear end. The new photos show a much more purposeful rear end and I hope that the final product does not differ too much in this respect.

One common criticism aimed at the Boxster is that it looks the same from both ends and to some extent this is true.

Nevertheless, it is a great car and i've now done nearly 11K miles in 7 months. The engine is sounding better with every mile! I don't have a garage so my car has been exposed to the crappy weather we've had in the last couple of weeks but it has remained dry and cosy inside.

I have also driven long distances in driving wind and rain and the car was as surefooted and stable as my previous car, a Merc.

I am not much of a soft-top person (unlike the vast majority of Boxster owners!) so I would actually prefer a coupe - believe it or not!

me too so i've got a hard top for the winter and i highly recommend it especally if your car isn't garaged.

The idea of a hard top is growing on me.

Does it offer a quieter ride? Is it a hassle putting it on and taking it off? What happens to the soft-top when the hard top is on? Does it affect performance (as it weighs 25 Kg)?

It would make sense from a security point of view during the winter.

Rumba,

the hard top make the car quieter it feels like a coupe. haven't noticed any diffrence in performance or handling in the three years i've had the car.visability through the back window is improved as it's much bigger than the plastic(or glass if you have a 03)window on the rag top, it's also heated.

it's easy to use but needs two people not cos of the weight but it's awkward.

the soft top just folds as normal.

i thinks it's great as during the warm weather i have a rag top and during the winter i have a coupe. i think (un like some rag top cars) the boxster looks really great in coupe form.
