LE Exhaust system

Can anybody help? I've got a 1988 911 Turbo that had the LE exhaust system fitted by the original owner. The RH side of the exhaust will need replacing soon and Dick Lovett in Bristol have told me it'll cost £2200 + VAT and fitting!! Does anybody know where I might get one for less? Or, would I be better off getting a copy and if so, who would you suggest I contact?

Hayward & Scott 01268-727256 ask for Ian they should be able to sort you out [;)] Cheers Rob

Jeddie,
is 1988 pre-cat, if so I would have thought that you could choose from a host of aftermarket replacements for the whole system at a much lower price, perhaps with a few more horses thrown in from the likes of Dansk, Cargraphic etc etc.
Time to phone around a few dealers & treat your steed to an Xmas gift !

Thanks Rob, will try them and let you know how I get on. MOT is due in few weeks, so might survive without replacing, but I fear it is iminent!!
Cheers Jeddie

Thanks Rob, will try them and let you know how I get on.

Good luck and I think you will be pleased with your S & H exhaust system should you go that route ...Rob

Jeddie
I have the same system on my Flat nose Turbo and i am certain it's the same as your LE.
If you go to Ninemeister.com web site they have a complete original SE exhaust system for sale (that's if it's not been sold) for £1000............good luck

Michael, you're a star. Many thanks for the e-mail. I'm sure our exhaust systems are the same ie 2 pipes out each side. Will go to Nine meisters web site and I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks again

Jeddie

Michael
Just to let you know, have spoken to Ninemeister and they think they still have the exhaust, but they're in process of moving and can't find anything at the mo.
Looks hopeful though, so many thanks again

Jeddie

Hayward and Scott did mine! could not match the right hand pipes so I had them cut off the old ones and reuse! 450.00 plus vat bargin for a stainless steel unit instead of a mild steel one from Porsche!

Cheers Kevin, you're the second person to recommend Hayward and Scott and I must say the price you quoted of £450 + VAT sounds brilliant. Was that price for the whole system? Have you got an LE then?

Thanks again

Jeddie

Hi Jeddie,

I saw a complete LE exhaust system on ninemeister's webset a few weeks back for £1,000 + vat. Could be worth giving that a try. I upgraded to the 9M header kit for my 930 turbo & am itching to get it back from the garage. Promises an instant 40hp...

Jeddie,

Just checked the web site. If you call (0)7000 930930 and speak to Colin. Reference number is 9M404.
Not sure if the link will work but give it a try.

That was the price of the silencer only! Yes I have a Black 1989 LE Turbo Reg 1st Aug 1989 I am the 2nd owner!

try colin at www.9mracing.co.uk ad shows £575 ,correct me if im wrong but is the left side of the le system not just chrome tips for the wastegate and really just for show??

Dear Keith,
Thanks for your reply and I'll certainly try the people you mentioned. The left side is fine, but I was under the impression that it was not just for show, but was for the turbo wastegate. However, if the price is right I would look at replacing the entire system.

Many thanks

Jeddie

Sorry i have just read the thread re exhaust.
Stuttgart connection do as/s replacement for the LE at£1278 +vat tel 01268 515999.Hope this help's.

Guys,

do you have any part number we could check the price with? I have been quoted about UK£950 for my turbo 3,6 headers (same as 964 turbo 3,3).

jeddie, i meant the le left side is just for the waste gate and is for show ,from behind. my turbo is upgraded with a 6 inch long pipe on the waste gate that vents straight onto the ground, and a silencer with dual oulets that sounds better and helps performance, also looks better than le system cos on a cold day steam comes from both outlets

Keith,

Sounds interesting can you give us more details on that? What sort of cost and work was involved etc. What extra BHP are you getting out of the mods?
I have yet to take mine on the rolling road after a rebuild.
