Sussex Region rent a beautiful Chateau for their party going to Classic Le Mans and this year due to unforeseen circumstances two couples have had to drop out leaving us with a double room with en suite, and a twin room with an adjacent private bathroom. I also have a single room available that shares a toilet & bathroom with another single room.
This will be our third visit to this Chateau and we take it for 5 nights (Wed ""Sun) rather than the usual 4, so that we can have a day there at leisure before heading for the track. It is located about 45 minutes drive north of Le Mans circuit, and stands in many acres of parkland. It has an outdoor swimming pool. We have the run of the house apart from the basement and a turret that the owner uses throughout our stay. Parking is as safe as anyone could want, and the drive to the track is mostly on a very pleasant country back road.
We traditionally have a buffet supper on the night of arrival, and a catered BBQ on the final evening. For the last few visits we have had Saturday night dinner at the restaurant on the Mulsanne straight and we are in the process of booking this at present.
In view of the hassle in previous years of having to collect money for the first night buffet and the Sunday BBQ at the Chateau, I have built the cost of those into the price for the Chateau so hopefully I will not have to ask for any monies when we are there. Dinner on the Mulsanne is not included.
The cost is going to be 910 Euros per double/twin room which on the exchange rates at time of booking the Chateau was £830. This includes the cost of the first night buffet and the Sunday night BBQ at the Chateau. Board is on a bed and breakfast basis. This does not include any travel, ferry/channel tunnel/tickets into the circuite or the meal on the Mulsanne on the Saturday night.
The balance of payment will be required by the end of March 2012, so I may ask for full payment rather than a deposit. The balance will be calculated based on the exchange rate prevailing then. Deposits will not be refundable unless we can re-let the room. Cost of the single rooms will be 40% of the double room price, due to the fact there is no en-suite bathroom.
