Now that the club has secured a site at Porsche curves and the costs are out is anyone interested, its a trip I've always wanted to do and my eldest son has managed to get a passout and the youngest wants to squeeze in the back so I think I'll be going. It would be good if we could get a few from the register and maybe organise a drive down together. I'm looking to go down on the friday and come back on the monday and will probably use the tunnel.
Everyone who's been tells me its an experience not to be missed.

Geoff

Hi Geoff, a group of us are going from R1 but it's to the classics booked through Le Mob.
Shame as we have booked a chateau for the 3 days - 9/10/11 July and I think there is a room which sleeps 4
still left?

If you fancy joining us and want more info, phone Scott Laurie, the RO for R1. His details are in PP. You can get him from Tuesday night onwards as he's living it up on the slopes in France this week!

I was chatting to the clubs organiser for this years event whilst at the Autosport show.
Stephen certainly came across as knowing what he was doing for the club and had the right ideas to make it a great event.[:)]

I've almost organised my pass out for the trip this year, however I normally travel down on the Wednesday or Thursday and enjoy the roadtrip along with the evening practice sessions.
I find Friday means its a bit of a rush... we do come back on the Monday

Booked pitches have been offered to allow us as a register all to camp together- thus an even more enjoyable event.[:D]

You have certainly not been misled- it is a great experience- not to be missed with lots to see and do... This year at a better cost to members

Full details are now in the Porsche Post and the link to the website is here ;- http://www.porscheclubgb.com/Event/1055.aspx

I'm just putting things into place and then hope to confirm my attendance...
We have a group travelling down on a date to be confirmed..

Post below your attendance and travelling day to Porsche Curves campsite..[:)]

Well I've booked my tickets....
I know Geoff has, so has anyone else???

I'm taking a late tunnel out Wednesday evening and having a hotel the other side, then meandering through France with a group of friend to the clubs new campsite on the Thursday.. The idea it to try and miss the M25 rush hour....[&:]
So if anyones enroute on the Thursday, do let us know..[:D]

Gary

Is it possible for those in the register who are going this year to get pitches together ?

How does it normally work being a newcomer to Le Mans

Geoff

Geoff, usually its a free for all[;)], however this year Stephen has informed me that if we prior book with him before the end of April - he will put pitches together.
My group I think will be taking 3 or 4 pitches, so if you wanted to join us then were more than welcoming and it does add to the camping experience...
I know London do get themselves really well organised, but I'm not sure if Chris is going this year or not...

At the recent workers conference Stephen was showing us some examples of the menu that has been proposed for the Lemnas site catering and I have to say it did look excellent with a really good range of foods....
Beer/ale on tap aswell for the beards amongst you..[;)]

You will see this year that the BBQ is on the Saturday night, so no rush back from the drivers parade this year [:)]

Hello all, I'm booked in with a mate of mine in his E93 M3 Cabrio. We are leaving Thursday 10th at approx 09:30 from Dover for the drive through the day. Staying on the Porsche curves, not sure where my pitch is. Went last year, loved it but staying outside of the track. Will be good to see a few people from the club there.

ahh - Should have added. Will be in a 996 C4S Meridien Silver, plate ending MJF if you spot us!!

Jon
We will be making our way through France on the Thursday too [8D]
Were on an overnight tunnel on the Wednesday evening and staying near Abbeville for a Thursday meander across France.... It's getting close now [8D]

Geoff, have you requested a pitch, you are welcome to pitch up alongside of us, Stephen will save you a space [:)]

garyw

Hi Gary

Yes we have requested a pitch near to yours but if you can arrange then great we will be arriving pm friday.

Geoff

Hi Gary

I've just had confirmation from Stephen that he's been able to allocate me a pitch with the register. I forgot until the last minute. All being well we'll see you all there. I'll be with my son, Matthew. Kathryn doesn't do fields, tents, makeshift loo's etc. - no sense of adventure.

I've been in communication with Stephen and he has confirmed that all is good for the Register camp [;)]

As the event gets closer I'm sure people will remember things to take...
My first reminders are an FM radio to be able to listen to Radio Lemans(91.2FM), so you know whats going on at all times...
I actually use an old phone that has a radio built in, a set of headphones so I can listen to the radio and take calls [:)]

My other is a Torch.....

Hopefully most read the information on getting the Autoroute TAGS in order to miss the Tolls booth queues [:)]- a bit late now to get one really...

For safety's sake, make sure you're equally wet on the inside.

Not too sure of the physics - something to do with osmosis, I believe!
