Hi all, I have put a post up on the R23 section re the above title. Bookings are being taken as we speak by Lycian events and,
the London Boys are getting revved up already [8D]!! However, I can see this suggestion being met with the same
Ice Cold-Tepid response as the last one I posted on there entitled Le Mans 2014, by the R23 members [8|]. In light of this
possibility, Would any of you 944 enthusiasts down this neck of the woods like to sign up to this monumental Porsche event [8D]?
To save me explaining everything all over again and getting cramp in my fingers [8|], click onto the R23 section on here and have
a read to see if it's for you? I think that for any Porsche nutter, it is most defo' one of the things you MUST DO before you die [;)]!
Northern boys are most definitely welcome but, I know that loads of you guys make the Annual pilgrimage anyway and, Ship out
from Hull Docks [8D]. Same drill applies to this section as I posted on the R23 section, If you are up for it or, even think that you
might be up for it, just add your name to the list. I'll start [:D].........

If no-one on here takes me up on this fantastic offer of a long weekend of Pi55 up's and Porsches and, maybe even our own BBQ
to equal that of R20 (the London Boys)then, I am going to chuck my hand in with them [:)]. Ok? It's up to you.

I don't think 2015 is possible for me but thought I'd just say that to anyone who hasn't been and has thought about it in the past..Do it! It's a great event, I've been at least 4 times and will do so again one day, I even took SWMBO on one trip with PCGB and she loved it. Not sure that I would do it alone though, I mean without a club with it's own toilet/shower facilities... the shared units get pretty busy over the weekend.

Maybe we will meet up at Le Mans Colin? I certainly hope so [:)]. Looks like I will most defo' be going with the London boys [8D].
Hope there's a few Millwall supporters amongst them [8D][8D][8D]!!!!
 
Only three 944's in the camp this year. Mine (S2) a white S2 and a red 2.5. All parked in a sea of 996's and 997's as well as few caymans and even a panamera. But in our row mine got the most attention,everyone walked past and took photo's and asked about it. Loads of guys reminiscing about their first Porsche and telling me how they wish they'd never sold it etc. Even on the road we stood out from the usual 911's Bentley's , Ferrari's ,TVR's and Lambo's. We got much respect from the other people on the road. All in all a great trip.

Did it this year , was about five cars back from fColin, was brilliant. The Lycian camp is top and well worth it. Much better to as part of a group. If you've not done Le Mans before I would recommend it at least once.

Have been twice now as a family so it is doable, clearly new rules on kids out of schools makes it difficult.
 
We could of course just talk to Joy from Lycean and get all the 44's put together on the site. I wandered around the track and looked loads of other camp sites and facilities etc and Lyceans was the best.
 
Hi Colin/Mark, I have been to Le Mans quite a few times and, can't wait to go again [8D][:D]. That's a very good idea Colin of,
asking Joy to put all the 944's together on the camp site [8D]. Something we should definitely sort out. I have just resigned from
region R23 and, have transferred to R20 (London)[8D]! Time for some fun methinks [:D]. Life's too short for R23 [8|]!
 
Yes Colin, I am most certainly up for this [8D]. It won't really matter what part of the country one arrives from if all one has to do
is ask for the 944 area on arrival [8D][:D]! I will drop Stephen and Joy an E-mail to this effect this evening.
 
I spoke to stephen today. He said that they plan the pitches about 4 weeks before the race. so as long as we let him know who we are we can be pitched together as the 44 boys or in regions or what ever. I suggest a 944 section of the camp. That way you can do any ferry and attive when ever you want and still be as a group over the weekend.
 
Hi Colin, yes I spoke to Stephen too. What you say is correct. Let's "JUST DO IT" [8D]!!

So, are there any Southern area 944 owners interested at this stage? [:)]

We can accommodate Register or Regional Groups we will ensure that they pitched together.

I know the flavour well Stephen, have been many times [8D][:D]! Did you have a look at your e-mail's yesterday mate? There's
one from me regarding the Newhaven ferry [:)]. Can you enlighten me please?
 
For those of us that have been before we understand Le Mans but thought it might assist those who have never been and who are tempted.

I understand Joy will be speaking with you tomorrow to answer all your questions.

Hi Stephen and everyone [:)], called into Newhaven ferry port this afternoon and, they weren't able to help much as the 2015
time table doesn't materialise much before Christmas [8|]. However, the woman on the desk say's that she doubts much will
change in the way of departure times which are, this year, 10.00hrs. Could work for a Thursday departure or, preferably,
23.00. A Wednesday night departure arriving in Dieppe at around 03.00hrs which would see us at Le Sarthe for around breakfast
time [8D][:D]. A group booking and, well in advance would give us a discounted rate, so I am told. I am well aware that this is all
rather early but, at least it gives any Southern members plenty of time to give this little outing due consideration [:D].

Duly noted and understood. Joy will contact you again to discuss further details, perhaps when they have announced the sailings for next year, we will keep on top of the ferry company will let you know when the sailings will be announced.
