Are any of you going to Le Mans this year?

This will be my first time back there since 2005 and am really looking forward to it, are any other 944 brethren going?

Hi Paul,

We met at Rutland last year (if you remember my burgundy S2) and I'm staying at the village on the curves having gone last year (first time) in my S2, but this year I'll be in my 997. I'll keep an eye out for you, I take it your S2 is going?

Hi Mike, Yes I remember your Cyclamen S2 and yes we'll be in the S2. I don't think it's ever been to Le Mans as previous times I went in either my old Turbo or Tony Footes Turbo

We're in the Killing Fields next door to you a.k.a Beausejour campsite and have teamed up with some Pistonheaders to hopefully have safety in numbers during the wee hours [:D] Have fun

it's funny Paul as only a few days ago I was thinking of our past trips to Le Mans and wondering if you and Tony plan more trips in the future.....alas it's too late for me this year but perhaps at some point in the future I may join you at this great venue...for anyone who hasn't been..go...it's the experience of a lifetime for true motorsport fans....

Pete

Maybe we should try for a group trip to the next Classic then [:)]

This years trip was a surprise gift from Josh ( my eldest ( for my 50th. Its great when your kids pay to take you on holiday [8D]

Guys, myself and a few others have been doing the LM Classic for a few years now, in my book it is better than LM24 as the vast majority who attend are petrolheads whereas a few stag do's and idiots now get to the main LM squirting piss about and kicking soccer balls into your car etc.
We had done LMClassic to death and fancied a change so have done Spa classic for the last 2 years and a few of us are off to the Nurburgring Oldtimer in August.
How about a run to the Spa Classic next May ? We have it Sussed now, way cheaper than LM, 30 euros ticket for the whole weekend that includes access everywhere and if you want it track laps for extra money, plus if we sort it out we get in circuit parking gratis !

Interested ?

I agree, if you like to get any sleep whatsoever, go to Classic LM, it's an age thing! And it is more motorsport/less piss-up, as stated.

How did the Spa Classic and Oldtimer compare - I'd like to try them?

Definate maybe! Spa sounds great but in all honesty unlikely to be able to make it next year, we are very very busy at the moment, with a possible end to my current (last 20 years) work in a couple of years time so have to take all the work we can now - despite the lack of a life outside of it.

Nice one Josh!
