Le Mans this is year was probably one of the best and I should know as I've attended a few, but a lot of that goes down to being in great company, so a big thanks for the hospitality amd friendship of the R20 crew that let us travel down with them.

As Chris said the only black mark over the weekend being the assh*le who stole his side pod, from what we can tell this was an inside job, so beware we have a thief amongst us! (In the camp that is not R20)

Whos going to the 2010 Classic?

Chris
This theft put a bit of a blight on an otherwise brilliant Le Mans. What really makes the blood boil is that it must have been stolen by "one of us". - and someone knows who took it. Perhaps they'll have the decency to persuade the miscreant to return it- even anonymously. Glad you at least had the great dignity not to let it ruin your weekend. Your barbie was again one of the high points of a trip of great memories. (the restaurant was OK too)

Not quite so... there were non club members on the site - quite a few of them..

I believe a good old fashioned witch hunt is in order.
What are the youth into these days? Burning at the stake or the rack?
Brilliant Le Mans otherwise, and thanks to Beaky for so much help with Chris' legendary BBQ and his and Dino's great company!

One thing that attracted me to Club camping was the 24 Hour security at the gate ......... however having arrived back at the site at 4.00am there was no one on the gate ... next day noticed camera stolen, amongst others ....... otherwise good trip.

We came back late at night (after 2am) and entered the site unchallenged.
There are keen and willing volunteers on the gate during the day, for which I thank them.

This was my first time to Le Mans, but definately not the last. Chris I think you showed great composure after your vent was nicked. I would have gone completely nuts. I thinks Rodneys got the right idea, I prefer to burn them at the stake, that way we can have a bbq at the same time. (never waste a good fire).

Definately up for the classic next year.

Sorry you lost your camera - have you at least secured a few snaps via other members or from Pistonheads?

On the subject of the PCGB campsite though, I don't recall seeing you wandering around the camp site either Des - were you in disguise[8|]? And when I came in to the site at about 2 am the French security were looking comfortably settled at a table just outside the access point, so surprised if they departed suddenly. Did you take your latest Porsche creation - I did see a Mint Green RS on the plot that reminded me of your previous car?

Sorry Robin was two years back with my white 64' RS .... sorry not have supplied you the date[8|]

Apology accepted Des, Just for the record the gate security this year was not only from PCGB, but from Wednesday the ACO had marshalls just outside our gate marshalling the entry to the Porsche Curves viewing area our campsite and the Danish campsite next to ours. You needed tickets or wristbands to pass them to gain access to any of the sites. They were there 24 hours per day until the race finished on Sunday afternoon. Our paid gate security supplemented the ACO marshalls and started before the race on Saturday and finished at 5 PM on Sunday. They were in place continuously while the rest of us went out to see something of the racing.
What is really needed is a proper portal or gateway to our site which could be made from scaffolding for ease of transportation and could show the name of the sponsor who supplies the money for it to be made, something with proper gates rather than the barriers we use at present, anyone out there interested or got any other ideas?

Glad it's been tightend ... there were a few campers robbed at the time, he threw all the credits cards round the site just wanted cash and easy sell carry items, they will always strike when least easy to police ....... not blaming anyone at all my fault for leaving stuff around unlocked thinking it safe ...[&o]
