We have decided to stay an extra week in France after the race and phoned the travel company to change the return booking to the following Saturday. No problem that will be an extra £90 please!.
A quick visit to Eurotunnel website revealed that just purchasing an extra single trip on the Saturdy costs £72

Sea france one way £35. booked one last week not sure about your saturday
Eurotunnel one way£49 quoted last week did you call them direct?
There used to be extra discount booking on line
Alternative is to ask Eurotunnel what premium to switch to later it might only be £10/20

Price depends on time of day. I've booked the journey @ £59 for mid morning on Sunday.
The increase of £90 was justified by saying I would have to change from a cheap 5 day return which the tour organiser had booked to a standard return. I suppose this means that you have to pay extra for staying longer in France!
