leads/dizzy & rotor changing

Next job on my list is to order new leads/dizzy cap and rotor for my cab.The leads and cap seem straightforward to change but looking on the PET cd the rotor has "spacers" behind the 3 allen screws. What purpose do these have when changing the rotor and as long as the rotor is replaced in the same position am i likely to affect the timing in any way?
All these parts seem fairly expensive new - is it best to stick with bosch and beru?

This is a job I'll be doing over the next couple of weeks as my HT leads look a bit tired. I'm yet to be convinced by the claims made about the more expensive HT leads and will be sticking with stock...uless anyone else who answeres this thread can convince me otherwise!

Give Bert a call at www.berlyn-services.co.uk

He will know about your 'spacers' and will possibly give you a better price as a set for all three.

According to his website - Distributor cap is £40, leads are £88 and rotor is £24 inc vat

Done the dizzy cap and rotor and it seems to have made a difference.I was quite surprised at the wear to the 4 contacts inside the old dizzy cap, they were very worn indeed.
Also had a look at the belts as i'm going to book her in for belt changes in chester. The balance shaft belt doesn't seem very tight as there was movement when i pressed my finger down on it - is this normal or a surefire sign it's on the way out?

The balance shaft belt is not as tight as the cam belt.

How far from chester are you?
