Hi all,
could anyone let me know what this leaking part is please? It's leaving a very small oil deposit on my garage floor ?
The car is a 2008, 3.4 Boxster S, Sport Edition, (tiptronic).
Thanks.

Thanks for that.
My hours of searching other sites seem to say it's the RMS (rear main seal). Should not be a problem as long as leak remains very slight, and can be fixed the next time the gearbox needs servicing.
A photo I found on the net confirms my slight leak is from the RMS area.

As said it could be either the RMOS or the intermediate shaft seal which is just above RMOS often drips down over the RMOS.
Misting is exceptable heavy leakage will need attention at some stage.

Thanks,
I noticed a very small drop of oil on the floor when I first moved it after getting home from the Falklands last week. It had been stood for 8 weeks before that. There has been nothing on the floor since, I only got to take the photo's yesterday because it was in for Track and Balance, and had a look underneath while it was up on the ramps.
