Leak under car front left area.

Can anyone advise. Just brought a 05 987 and on getting it home, I noticed a pool of liquid on the floor, in the front left area. Liquid does not smell, has a slight brownish tinge. Also travelling back (170+ miles), no air con at all, very frustrating.

Coolant (balance) pipes run across the car, left to right. These are a very common leak point, normally at the join behind the hub, and one that once starts is best nipping in the bud. The fix is reepacement of affected pipes.

If you turn the wheel on lock and shine a torch in you will see dampness at the joint.

It is not unusual for a car of that age to have problems with the air con. The condensers are a weak point and sometimes you can see damp patches on them when you look through the front vents. Pipes and seals can also develop leaks. Your best bet is to get a specialist to look at it and if there is no obvious leak they will regas the system with some dye in it so that it will be possible to identify the leak in the future.

Thank you Terry, I appreciate your response. I have booked into Porsche Swindon for an hours diagnostics, so should find out from there. Will keep posted.
