Just spent a 'happy' Saturday afternoon rolling around under my 964 trying to find out where my expensive oil is dissapearing to. Tracked the problem down to the long oil pipe that runs from the oil filter housing round the inner arch to the bottom of the oil tank; the last part of this pipe is made from steel and mine is so badly corroded that its weeping oil. What I want to know is whether replacement of this pipe is a diy job or a cheque book out affair? This is one of those jobs that looks straight forward but has all the hallmarks of being a right pig - the nut/union at either end of the pipe look like they are rusted solid. What do you think?
