Hi[:)]

This question has probably been asked a thousand times before but whats the common cause of a leaking tailgate on a 944. My boot is constantly damp and im looking to try and fix it.

cheers

I think the most common causes are leaking taillights or sunroof vent tubes. Could also be the tailgate seal, misalignment of the tailgate or glass seaparation too, there are lots of potential weak points.

Check the catches too ~ water drains through these into pipes which feed out through the cavities at each side (easily viewed when you pop the carpet away in between the tail-lights. Any blockages or a tube thats popped off will cause water ingress.

yes the rear lights seem to be a common source of water in the boot area .
Water in the rear footwell is likely to be the sunroof drain tubes blocked, front footwell could be the door seals or windscreen seal but check everywhere under bonnet and remove all the leaves and cr*p .
Check bulkheads and under dash ,heater hoses etc ,

I was going to suggest doing a search on here for other threads as this has been covered comprehensivly before recently but I have to say the search facility is pants cos I couldn't find anything[;)]
