Leaking valve/rocker covers on C2

Hi guys
I have been informed that both the valve covers on my 996 c2 are leaking and need re - sealing. Can anyone tell me if this is a complicated fix ? Are any special tools needed and a small garage locally said it was a 3 hour job for both and they are sealed with loctite 5900 - is this all about right ? Any thoughts would be appreciated

Sounds about right to me. I'll look up the 'book' time tomorrow when I get to my PC.

You also need to relieve the tension on the timing chains by undoing the tensioners, and lock the crank at TDC.
 
Sorry Angus - I totally forgot about this.

Seems like I (and the garage) might be a bit optimistic on the time for the job. The official time to do both sides is 700 Time Units (7 hours), as below:
