Leaking water from exhaust

Hi all,

This morning I noticed water leaking from the exhaust - quite a lot actually.
I had the air con on for 10 mins before i came to a stop and noticed that.

Had the OPC check it and they said it's normal but I should monitor it (which I found a bit weird) - if it's normal why should I monitor it?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Looks like it is coming from the silencer. Condensation occurs inside the box when the car cools down. This slowly corrodes the box from the inside until a pinhole forms and allows drips to escape.

Then the box needs replacing? Surely shouldn't they have found this during the check?

It is normal for some water to blow out the exhaust pipes on startup, however this quickly becomes steam and any drip from the box will dry out. I am guessing that the car was hot at the OPC so no signs of the drip.
One box of my 987 has been dripping like this for over a year. Not picked up as an advisory at MOT as the hole is so tiny (no excess noise and no danger of exhaust gas getting into the cabin).

Interesting... the video I uploaded earlier is when the car was hot and the leak seemed a lot to be coming from a pinhole. I don't know what to think, OPC checked and said it's ok. Car will be going for it's 111-point check in 2 months for warranty purposes

The 944 (lux and turbo) had a small hole in the exhaust at the lowest point of the backbox from the factory to let moisture out from short journeys etc. I cant tell if that is from the lowest point in your video but it might be something they still do.
After recently backing my cayenne into the river further than usual to recover our boat - I left the tips underwater for 5 mins or so - I can report there is a lot of wadding that can hold water in the exhaust - it was race car loud for about 15 mins until the wadding got some heat in and dried out again! (towing 3+ tonnes of boat and trailer uphill does warm the exhaust nicley).
