Leaky Headlights

Just checking if anyone has had a situation where the front headlight has water leaking into the headlight. (The previous week there was alot of rain!) I can see the rubber is fairly rigid at 16 years old around the headlight and probably needs replacing. Can you replace the rubber or is it a complete headlight?

Yip you can replace just the rubber.....most people do it when they replace the lenses (15 year old lenses usually have a few chips and scrapes)

Regards

Are you sure its not condensation? The headlights have a vent tube, out of the headlight electrical plug and down to the little black plastic things on each side of the pu,maybe one or both of these tubes is blocked or twisted trapping moisture in the headlights

have all cars got these drain tubes from the electrical connector ? I don't seem to have any tubes, I have litronics though, don't know if it makes any difference. I pop my headlight units out by the way if I get caught out in the rain, or to have a good clean inside, and a squirt with some duck oil or similar to stop any corrosion in the housings . Have we got any an*l smilies [;)]

I'm not completely sure if the litronic headlights have the tubes, but I would of though so. You sometimes find the tubes get pulled out as people see them hanging out under the bumper & don't know what they are for

have got the little plastic things both sides of the pu ,but no tubes, will have a look at the connectors tomorrow
