Hi I've just got my first 997 and was wondering what is the best leather treatment is
its a 2005 with 5500 miles so pretty special and want to keep it as is

i have used a few different leather care products and at the moment my fave is autoglym's leather care balm. nice smell. easy to apply and buff off. leaves leather looking matt. leaves a water resistant finish to avoid wet cats leaving marks.

Hi

millionaire banker only put 400 miles a year on it
all service work, fluid changes, tyres etc done at West London Porsche
like new and got 2 year Porsche warranty to boot
couldnt believe my luck

Tony,
You won't be disappointed with Gliptone Liquid Leather, currently 10% discount with a code in PP.
I probably apply it twice a year & 1 litre has lasted me 6+ years.....

Yes, get the gentle cleaner and treat yourself to the conditioner too. Those are definitely the two brews to use on your leather interior. [;)]
Regards,

Clive.

Has it got bed sores [:)]

Give it some oxygen and wish you many smiles on increasing miles

Wow that sounds like some car.
Mine only purchased last week is the same year and colour combination (Arctic Silver and Ocean blue interior) but there the similarity ends My 997 has had 5 owners and has 89,000 miles so the other end of the spectrum.
But my guess is that I couldn't afford yours.:))

As an alternative you might consider Renapur both cleaner and conditioner. I have sued this for years firstly on my bike leathers and so pleased with the results I have used it on many other leather products including leather car seats. From experience its beat left overnight before buffing as it seems to take its time to soak in. I also provides some degree of waterproofing and certainly prolongs the life of bike leathers, boot etc they have a website which includes all the details.

Hi Rodney,
I always just use warm water with a bit of washing up detergent to wipe the interior down including the door cards and dashboard as it keeps things looking original and grease free. Then use a good quality hide food which you can buy from most of the companies. I have used Autoglem as it is good and cheap and similar to connolly which is supplied to Bentley etc. If you want to get that lovely new car smell (trick of an interior trimmer) go to eBay and buy some leather off-cuts such as Bridge of Weir or Connolly and tie a couple of rolled up 3-6" tubes of leather under your seats. Or replace a small amount out of view on the rear parcel shelf. Can't be seen and the car will smell like the fastest gentlemen's club on four wheels! Its a touch we used to tell our customers years ago but very effective at replacing that lovely smell very quickly. [:)]

Have a look for Bridge of Weir leather instead as it is very smelly and is definitely offered on eBay. Maybe Connolly just isn't available right now but it often posted. Happy hunting!
