Leather seats

My 924 was one of the last Lux model sold in the UK (registered Sept. 1985) It has leather seats and when I bought the car it was claimed that Porshce had included the leather to help sell the last few 924 Lux models before the 924S came along.

Does anyone else have a very late 924 Lux model with leather seats that backs up this story ?

Also does anyone no how to confirm that the leather seats were fitted by Porsche rather than added later - I could get the original details from Porsche Cars UK, but I think they charge about £25 for details of the car's options when delivered ?

look at the options build spec for your car, this is a scrappy piece of paper stuck on the inside of the body work near the spare wheel, it will have a series of numbers most of them three digit.

I will look in Peter Morgans book at what the option number for leather seats is and then you will be able to confirm if they were fitted in the factory.

The list of Porsche option codes is on the internet too, and some of the codes are:

409 Sport seats left and right leather
410 Sport seats left and right leatherette/cloth
936 Leather seats rear
939 Soft leather rear
946 Leather/leatherette seats
98 Standard Porsche Leather Interior (deviating std color combinations)
982 Supple Leather Seats/Trim
983 Leather seats front and rear
983 Leather seats front (NOT REAR)

(Just in case you can't wait [;)])

Thanks for your help - I have confirmed that my 924 has option 946 Leather/Leatherette seats.
