I'm guessing there will be a reborn Leda pretty soon, even if only to service existing users - think of the hundreds (thousands?) of race cars that will be looking for rebuilds

I've had absolutely fantastic service from them over the last fortnight, they couldn't have done more or tried harder, their prices were always reasonable too (which probably didn't help them). It was a true family run business of the old kind too.
This country is slowly losing the last of its specialist manufacturers, its so depressing to see it happening.
I'm sure the firm will reappear in some fashion, fingers crossed it'll be done properly.
As many may recall, I was on the brink of buying Leda suspension (for my car not the company as a whole) but, contrary to Peters comments, didn't think ultimately they were cheaper than KW's. I guess it is just as well I didn't go the Leda route now (It is certainly just as well for those of you who recommended Leda as otherwise I might have been visiting you armed with a length of 4"x2" - you know who you are.)
It is never good to hear of a local company going down and will no doubt prove frustrating for those with Leda suspension fitted.

I am very disappointed to hear of their demise. They did a talk out our last region meeting and there was no hint at that time of imminent closure (not that one would expect there to be I guess).

Now then John, you are a big lad but you are out of shape so behave yourself!!! []
I doubt the receivers will run the company. The premises are owned by the Dixon family pension fund so they cannot be taken into the bankruptcy estate. Therefore Leda consists of stock plant and goodwill. If I had more time on my hands I would buy the company. The potential is huge. There is a sleeper there!

Perhaps true - but I am fast in my mind []

If you buy it I'll run it. Andy is a nice guy but isn't Mr Charisma (perhaps he was just run down by the impending doom of closure when he did his presentation to R11).

1) Track day enthusiasts who all seem to be flocking to KW, need something better then OEM sport upgrades but want to be able to drive the car on the road i.e. not Bilstein cup suspension.
2) Racers who want technology like remote reservoirs etc. etc. but don't really want to spend £5K+ on a set of shocks to track prepare a car that might have cost £5K to buy in the first place.

Regarding your first point I think that if you use the car on road and track then the key (for me at least) is adjustable dampers, I wouldn't want to be without them now, even the simple ones on my setup. I'd set them fully stiff for track which was practically undriveable on the road (unless you like your vision vision blurred and the car trying to seek the scenery on every mid corner bump []).
On that point I'm hopefully getting my car back in 3 hours time, will then see if all the expense has been worthwhile [8|]
