Despite new tyre technology coming on leaps and bounds, sometimes old tyres like Yokohama A008Ps and more recently SO2s seem to fit the bill re handling and to hell with wear , noise, wet performance etc.
Check out www.mytyres.co.uk and be amazed at the choice of tyres available in our fitting and speed ratings, eg the above mentioned tyres,==== my mate just got Toyo Proxes T1S 205/40/17s at £64 a corner delivered to the door for his Cooper S.
No affiliation with the company, usual disclaimers.
I think they also can do the new Pilot Sport in 16s but I'm not sure.
Checkem out

Although I run S02's right now, I hear the Toyo's are a very decent tyre, and come with 2 year no quibble warranty.

My local tyre dealer in sunny Rushden straight of the bat offered :-

"if they have a puncture in 2yrs - we'll replace them FOC"....

I'm thinking "how?"

Thoughts ?
