Hi Everyone
Its very quite in here - although I log on most days I guess I'm as much to blame as anyone.
So lets see if we can change things eh?
I haven't been to a Club night for so long now that I have nearly forgotten what they are all about!! I'm going to try and change that this year, but I always seem to remember after the event! Looks like David and Barry are doing a good job keeping the Region active and I will try to support the events more this year.
No excuses really, just busy with my new job, putting up with a crap back and a trillion other things spring to mind.
Anyhow, just thought I'd get a chat going - have fun.

Hi everyone else,
same is true for me,in fact since Woodvale last summer.
Trouble is ,in my other life, the meeting always clashes with a board meeting at the college I am chair of Governors.
Have managed two IOM meetings having been over at the cottage at the same time.
Both our P's are running well, recently had to replace the offside rear wheel bearing on the 964;that's a job and a half.Otherwise I am glad I have an aircooled car judging from all the topics about the dreaded RMS!

Cheers

Hi, I'm stuck between two regions (or perhaps to view it in a more postive light, have a 'choice' of two regions). Hoping to get the T out as much as poss. this year hopefully can get over some R18 events. Anyone going on the Lakes do next weekend?

Evening all , working in the motor trade ( New Cars ) and March being a plate change has been rather a busy old time for us, and the the old girl hasnt been able to attend the last 2/3 meetings which has been dissapointing ,as the 2/3 times I have gone I have found them informative and been made to feel very welcome with my old, modest but brill 944 [:)] . Looking forward to getting a bit more involved with attendence of events this year.

Dam nice weather in Preston today for once.

Chris,
How's the 944 since the London road incident ?.

Hiya Bryan, I am never hoping for a repeat of the London Road incident which as a matter of interest - how do you know about it ?

Chris,
I drove your 944 away from the scene, half thought about going on into the sunset,
Bought a 924 shortly after that, did it up sold it for double the purchase price and got myself a Boxster.

Bryan.[:D]

Bryan [:D] I was somewhat puzzled as to the answer to my earlier question and I did wonder if you might have been the man that retrieved the embarrased 944 owner [:)] , I still wonder to this day how it all went so wrong but consider myself rather lucky that the car and anybody else remained unscathed.

Delighted to hear you went and bought a 924 and doubled your profit ,not a chance of that happening to me unless somebody is willing to pay £20k for a 944 S2 [:D]. Likely to see your car around being a Speed Yellow Boxster - you must be enjoying it.

Cheers
Chris

PS if you attend a R18 meeting would be nice to say Hi without the embarrased face [:)]

Still quiet isn't it? Maybe the members in Lancs & Cumbria are not bothered about the forum or possibly have no internet connection. Ah well - we can only keep trying and pass the word.
Cheers,

Peter,
there seems to be a small clique(pardon my french) who can understand the seeming nonsense that passes around, that wish to display their profound knowledge of Flash, cookies ,photoshop etc and have plenty of time to lavish but can't understand that the worst thing you can do is to put your car in a warm garage without letting it dry after washing etc.

Result; Boredom.
Regards,
Colin Appleton.

Peter,
is that a French word?People what know me might claim that I have never been known to use the Idiom, but then so many people lie these days.As I said earlier meetings clash with Hugh Baird board meetings so it's difficult.
Everything is OK with us,however we have been doing up our cottage in Laxey,IOM so that takes me away quite a lot.It has given me the chance to meet up with Tony Corlett et alia a ,couple of times,he seems to know a lot about 3.2 Carrera's and fast driving on the island.
You sold yours I see,are you also worried about the dreaded RMS?Will try to get up to Garstang as the weather improves,it does put miles on the cars, unfortunately.
Cheers,
Colin.

PS hope the "back" is OK.

Hi Rob
The RMS issue does not bother me at all - its only done 2500 miles so even if it did occur then it should be a good few 000's miles before then away anyhow. (Fingers crossed) Whilst it is a serious issue for some, I think a sense of perspective is needed and I will look forward to the survey that is being carried out by the club.
All Porsche models have had their achilles heel and some are a dam sight worse than the RMS.
My 3.2 cost me £10,000 to have a total body restoration and subsequent owners spent about the same again on the engine and gearbox etc. So a few hundred to sort out a weeping oil seal should it happen is 'nowt in comparison!
Besides I can enjoy the car for its total ability and modern feel even though the driver's seat kills my back! Got to get that softened up!!!
