LHD or RHD

I know this may be an old chestnut, but in your honest opinion would you buy a mint LHD over maybe an average RHD and if so do you think the LHD car should be the same money due to condition or slightly less due to it being LHD. Thinking of swapping to a 964 or Carrera 3.2 so will also ask the same question to the 3.2 boys and girls.

Kinnell Dan, that didn't take long!

IMO, I wouldn't turn down a mint LHD for an average RHD. Many people say that LHD cars feel better that RHD due to the pedal set up(you know how offset they are in 964's).

Plus, if you are looking at 964's bear in mind that repairs are higher than 3.2's. I've spent about 2k on mine since I bought it on things like a service and bits and bobs.

If you need any literature on buying a 964, let me know and i'll get some scanned and pm'd to you

It's your fault Rob!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't really afford it but your car just blew me away.(And if i'm not carefull the missus will to).

Just that the LHD cars do seem to be that bit cheaper and unlesss i can find one owned by an enthusiast i think our european friends may be the way forward.

Took me 7 hours to clean my car yesterday after Bruntingthorpe and my freshly painted front bumper is knackered [:(]

Oooh wish wifey would do that when I spend money, usually just get nagged at[:D]

Seriously, the general advise is to allow at least 2k per year to run a 964. Look at john miles site (www.porsche964.co.uk) for a rough idea of running costs.

You'll be glad to here that my front bumper looked like it's been shot by a 12 bore! I got bored touching it up after an hour, but I think spending the day driving the car like an arse was completely worth a couple of hundred quid respraying the bumper. I will look at somekind of armourguard stuff for it when it is sprayed though. Just have to fit in somemore tracktime now then to warrant the respray.

Thats exactly what i thought after spending half of yesterday with the paint pot. I now see it as a badge of honour!!

Thanks for the tips rob.

BTW are you going to any other events this year?
