life with the LWF

I collected my car from Northways on Saturday, I had a LWF and Clutch fitted, I was worried about stalling also what if I did not like this mod, these worries were unfounded there was no stalling issues, the LWF is fantastic it really transforms the car. Around town it well behaved I could sense the OBDII working when I got the clutch balance wrong.

This is where I found the difference when you are "on cam" balancing the car with the throttle and you bake the revs drop like a stone, I have got to learn how to H&T. (especially for track days). I found my self paying more attention to the rev counter, I always change before the rev limiter cuts in and I'm afraid to say I got caught out a few times( because of the speed at which the rev limit was reached).

I can finally see why there is a love for the all RS variants that includes GT3s, because when you are "on cam" there is nothing sweeter than a NA 911 with a LWF.

The car seems faster but this is purely due to the fact that is now reving much cleaner and sweeter( I could go on and on).

For anyone thinking of doing this Mod, just do it.

I will have it done if you pay[:D][:D][:D].........whats that a NO[:)] ok 50/50 then?[;)]

Ok have it done, and I will have it removed if you don't like it[;)].

What was the cost of the LWF? Did you need to have the clutch done at the same time anyway? Is it much more expensive if you get the LWF done alone? Thanks.

I bought the LWF and Clutch kit from Ninemeister I believe the total cost was £920 inc. vat which was cheaper that Gert. IMO its not worth doing the flywheel alone you might as well do the clutch while you are there, I also had a weeping RMS replaced.

Oh no !! Should we have a survey ?? ... [;)]

Glad you like it, it's on my list when I need to go in there ...

cheers, Maurice [:D]

I Luv it.....yes I think we should have a survey in regards to RMS issues[:(], I do not think its just a 996 thing, although the 993 rms issue is due age so I've been told and the 996 is due to maufacturing[;)].

Also could someone tell what are the symptoms of DMF failure, mine would clatter on engine shutdown from neutral( foot off the clutch).
