Lifetime Guarantee

Amongst the paperwork I received from the previous owner of my 993 was a lifetime guarantee of repair for replacing a n/s/f wing, door, qtr and sill panel. I didnt pick up on this paperwork until after I bought the car and nor did the person who inspected it.
Anyway I did notice the body style being recorded as Cabriolet. Since the 993 is a Coupe this is obviously an error with the paperwork, however, once thing that has been niggling me for sometime is the gap between the door and the body that seems to be larger on the drivers side than on the passengers side.
Now it was the passengers side that was replaced unless of course the paperwork is incorrect again (not inconceivable) so why would there be this gap. Its as if the drivers side was replaced and doesnt fit as well as the passengers side.
Other than that this raises questions if the car was involved in an accident and how serious it was?

I have to say that you only notice it on very close inspection but I know its there!
Any ideas?

Doors are/can be shimmed at the hinges - so is it possible that on one side they have not inserted the shims? Perhaps it had the door check strap repair in the past and they simply forgot to put them back in?

By the lifetime guarantee I presume you mean a Porsche GB approved bodyshop.

Have you got the HPI check sheet to compare to registration document and did you have the car inspected as n/s/f wing, door, qtr and sill panel can be pretty major bearing in mind that the front and rear quarter stick out from the body!

Gaps are normally a good half a centimetre all the way round, is the gap consistant around the doors?

Check the hinges for the check strap issue and whether its been done, normally its the drivers door side that goes as the put the strength in the n/s for the LHD cars

yes it is Porsche GB approved. I will have to check my paperwork for the HPI and yes it was inspected by Peter Morgan.
I had the door check strap done in 08.
